We had our first Foster Care placement!

Day 1 - His hair was so long! I gave him a little haircut.
Day 2

We got a call on Wednesday morning from DCFS asking if we wanted to foster a 15 month old boy named Wyatt. We told them yes we would do it, so he was dropped off at our house in the afternoon around 2. This is our first placement, so it is all new to us. I feel like I have been set in my ways for a long time, so this is a huge change for me. Having a 5 year old and 7 year old was so easy for me and they can keep themselves entertained pretty good. Now having a toddler in our house changes things a lot. I have to move a lot of our stuff that is in his reach and constantly watch him. The stairs make me nervous and we have to have a gate. I feel like I'm neglecting my other 2 kids. But he is a cute boy and very loving already. He has reddish hair that is like Madeline's. My friend said he looks like he fits into our family, but I'm not holding my breath, because they can just as easily take him away. We will see how things go. We have to put him in respite care while we go on vacation. Hope it doesn't stress him out too much. He seems pretty laid back though.

He's so cute. Foster care is hard because you are trying to love a little one but protect your heart at the same time in case it doesn't work out. Love him with all you got. You're all he has right now. Good luck with everything. YOu can bring him over to my house, it's already baby proofed for a 15 month old. Kason has already pulled down my curtains and it's a constant mess of toys, so Wyatt will fit right in. Miss you guys.
