Coloring Eggs
Today we colored eggs for Easter. It will be Ashton's 1st Easter tomorrow! And his cousin's 1st birthday. How fun to celebrate both!
We went to the city Egg hunt this morning and I swore last time would be the last, but it keeps getting worse I think. There are way too many people there and our kids get only a few pieces of candy. Ethan got pinned down because there were so many kids herded around the candy waiting for it to start and there were kids stealing candy from my kids baskets when they already picked it up. What is Easter all about and what are these parents teaching their kids? Do they know the true meaning of Easter and what it's about or do they think it is all candy? I would much rather have the kids go to their grandparents for Easter egg hunts from now on.
On a better note, we had a great FHE last Monday with plastic easter eggs and retelling the last week of Jesus' life. This is our 3rd year we have done this lesson and I always get emotional. Each egg has something in it that reminds us of our Savior's life, all except for the last egg, which is empty because the tomb was empty and Jesus was resurrected. May we all remember our Savior not only on Easter, but always.
