Our Birth Parent Letter

Dear Birth Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and look at our profile. Though we can't begin to imagine what this time of your life is like for you, we do know you are brave and strong to have reached this point. We admire your resolve and perspective and know God is very proud of you.
We are a family of four - Jared, Christi and our two children Madeline and Ethan. It took us 2 years to conceive Madeline. Ethan quickly followed, but since then, and despite our desires for a large family, we have been unable to have more children biologically.
The gospel has always been first in both our lives. Jared is in a leadership role with the men in our local church, and Christi serves the children there as well. We are both BYU alumni and married shortly after Jared returned from a full time mission to Rostov, Russia. Our goals are to raise righteous and compassionate children who know who they are, where they came from, and where they have the potential to go. All of our time, resources, and energy are devoted to these ends.
Jared is employed with ATK Launch Systems – the world’s leading manufacturer of rocket motor systems for NASA and the U.S. Government. Jared’s work is very close – only 10 minutes away, which allows Jared more time at home with the family and kids. He gets home very early, as early as 4:15 some days. Christi is a proud homemaker and stay-at-home mom. In addition to teaching Ethan at joy school preschool with a few other moms, she regularly volunteers in Madeline's kindergarten class finding great satisfaction in playing an active role in her children's lives. Christi loves being a mom!
Madeline and Ethan are fun kids and fill our house with joy. They are excited for another brother or sister to play with and love. They keep asking when we will have a new baby. Madeline is very creative and likes to come up with arts and crafts projects by herself. She also loves to play with friends and has frequent play dates with kids in the neighborhood. She loves kindergarten and does very well in her schoolwork. Both Ethan and Madeline love to go swimming and to the local amusement park during the summertime. Ethan loves joy school – a type of preschool that Christi rotates teaching with other moms in the neighborhood. He gets together with his joy school buddies every Monday and Thursday. Ethan loves to cuddle and is very energetic. Both Madeline and Ethan would make excellent siblings. They would both love to have another playmate in our house.
We have always wanted a large family and thoroughly enjoy being parents, aunts, uncles, and friends to those we have the opportunity to nurture. We have very supportive extended family members. Christi came from a family of five kids and is second to youngest, while Jared is the oldest of three siblings. We get together with grandparents every Sunday for dinner and get together with cousins every Friday afternoon after school.
What we can provide for your child:
Unconditional love. We want your child to grow up knowing how much he or she is loved by us as well as by you.
Opportunity to succeed in life and education – Christi has a BS degree in Speech Language Pathology, and Jared has two BA degrees in Russian and journalism and a Masters degree in business. We want our children to have the same opportunities and are saving up for our children’s education already.
Love of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ – we are a strong LDS family
Lots of hugs and kisses, love and laughter
Family together time – we hold regular family home evenings and do many evening and weekend activities.
Fun and travel – traveling is one of our favorite things. We have been to both East and West Coast of the U.S. and to Europe. The kids’ favorite places are Disneyland and Sea World.
Financial Security – we have been fortunate to have our house paid off and Jared has a job that pays well.
Family close by – grandparents are 15 minutes away and cousins are 30 minutes away.
Jared’s thoughts about Christi
The first adjective I would use to describe Christi is that she is fun. Fun to go on trips with, fun to go on dates with, fun to talk to, and fun to just be around at home. She is enthusiastic about life. She is a dreamer who sees the potential in things. She is a hopeless romantic and brings that zeal to all her interests.
Her top desire is to make her family happy and comfortable. She shows incredible loyalty to her family, and will support them in whatever circumstances. There is no one more dependable than Christi. Christi does an excellent job with our kids. She is always seeking ways for them to create new memories – with friends, on trips, or at home. She nurtures spiritual growth by teaching them Gospel principles in everyday life. I could not have picked a better person to marry. She has been such a great blessing to my life. I am thankful for all she gives to me and to our family.
Christi’s thoughts about Jared
Jared is a wonderful husband. Every day he tells me how much he loves me and appreciates me. He is a dedicated father to our children and helps a lot around the house with taking care of the kids after work and on weekends. Jared loves telling the kids stories he makes up on the spot. Jared is a motivated get-it-done person and is great at planning. Jared is excellent with money and created our budget to save money each month. He likes to plan fun family activities for us to do together. All of our fun activities and travel are planned expertly by him. He is a great husband and father and each night I thank Heavenly Father for him in my prayers.
We just want you to know how thankful we are that you would consider our family for your child. We know this must be a very difficult decision for you both. We hope that you find comfort and peace as you decide what to do.
Love,
Jared, Christi, Madeline & Ethan
